More than honey by Marcus Imhoof

Einstein once said: “If bees ever die out, mankind will have only four years left to live”. In the past five years, billions of honeybees simply vanished for reasons still obscure. If the bees keep dying, it will have drastic effects for humans as well: more than one third of our food production depends on pollination by honeybees and their life and death are linked to ours.

Life without the bee is unthinkable. But, between pesticides, antibiotics and monoculture, the queens and their workers are losing their power. The film is a trip to investigate about bees world in different places Europe, Kalifornien, Kina och Australien.

MORE THAN HONEY is a documentary on the fantastic world of bees by the Swiss filmmaker Marcus Imhoof. The film is wonderful. It shows the fascinating world of bees, the process to reproduction and the industrialized honey farms. It is about the relationsship between man and the honeybees. The film is also about the nature, the future for the bees and the humanity.

It´s a very good documentary film with beautiful naturfotografi. It´s fascinate to see this documentary. The film takes us to a journey in the world of bees, its life and reproduction.

The director Marcus Imhoof, Oscar nominated director was visiting Stockholm during the movie gala premiere  april 12. More than Honey” won the Swiss Film Award as “Best Documentary” and for “Best Film Music”.
