ARC GLORIA from Colombia was visiting Stockholm

The arc gloria was in the port of Stockholm for four days. During these four days, Colombians, Swedes and other nationalities had the opportunity to visit the ship and learn more about the history of the ship and the culture of Colombia.
According to a crew member; in this tour, there are 163 people on the ship, including officers and cadets from the Colombian navy school.
 
ARC GLORIA from Colombia left Stockholm on 4 juni and the next stop will be Germany.
The ARC GLORIA is the flagship of the Colombian National Navy. It´s a floating Ambassador as represent Colombia in the each port they visit around the world.
They took farewell of the spectators with music and much joy. Many people came to Skeppsbron in the Stockholm to see when they left the port.
People who visited the ship during the days it was in Stockholm were able to buy products such as coffee, t-shirts and other Colombian products, as well as delight in Colombian gastronomy.

Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award ceremony 2024 at Stockholm concert hall.

Tonight it was the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award ceremony 2024 at cooncert hall in Stockholm.
It was a wonderful ceremony. This year´s laureate is the Indigenous Literacy Foundation from Australia.
H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria presented the Award.

The jury’s motivation
"With curiosity and respect, Indigenous Literacy Foundation works with reading and storytelling among First Nations children in Australia. In close collaboration with Communities, they highlight the value of all people’s own languages and stories. By spreading books and stimulating reading, storytelling and creativity, Indigenous Literacy Foundation builds the desire to read and fosters pride, self-confidence and a sense of belonging. Every child has the right to their language and their stories."

The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Prize is SEK 5,000,000 ($513,000). It is an important award because it promotes the reading of translated books that help understand and learn about other cultures.
It is important that children and young people have the opportunity to approach literature because it helps exchange between cultures and people.

This award is given annually to a person or organization for their outstanding contribution to children's and young people's literature. It is an important award given by Sweden to highlight the importance of reading books and books for children and young people.

The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Prize was created by the Swedish government in 2002.
