Guldbagge Awards 2023- All Nominations for Guldbagge Awards have been announced

Today, the nominees of the Annual Guldbagge Awards have been announced at Film Institute in Stockholm during a press conference. 

This year Swedish cinema has had a very good film year. The jury has chosen the award nominees from 53 feature films and 16 short films which have been screened in Swedish cinemas and many of these films have been competing at film festivals around the world.

Among the films of this year we have titles such as Tarik Saleh's thriller Boy from Heaven, Contemporary satire Triangle of Sadness by Ruben Östlund and the comedy The Year I Stopped Performing and Started Masturbating by Erika Wasserman. 

The movie Triangle of Sadness have nine nominations, Boy from Heaven with seven nominations, Burn All my letters, Comedy Queen and I am Zlatan have six nominations each. 

The Guldbagge Awards Gala is arranged by the Swedish Film Institute in collaboration with SVT and it takes place at Cirkus in Stockholm on January 23, 2023.

Tom Hanks, en la gala de estreno de la película A man called Otto

Esta noche el famoso actor Tom Hanks estuvo presente en el estreno de gala de la película "Un hombre llamado Otto", en inglés A MAN CALLED OTTO. Esta película es una versión de la película sueca Un Hombre llamado Ove". 

El actor llegó al cinema Rigoletto para estar presente en este estreno de gala organizado por SF studios de Suecia. Para los organizadores es un honor, un sueño de tener la visita de este gran actor como es Tom Hanks en el estreno de la película A man Called Otto, que es la versión de Hollywood. 

Antes de entrar al cinema el actor firmó autógrafos a los fans que desde una hora antes estaban esperando la llegado del actor al estreno de gala. 

El director de la Película Marc Forster atendió el estreno de gala y antes de caminar por la alfombra roja firmó autógrafos. La productora de la película Rita Wilson también ha estado presente en este estreno. 

La actriz mexicana Mariana Treviño, muy sonriente saludo a las personas que esperaban en las afueras del cinema y también con mucha amabilidad se tomó selfies y escribió autógrafos. 

Al estreno de gala el actor sueco Rolf Lassgård y la actriz Bahar Pars, estaban entre los invitados al estreno. Lassgård y Bahar Pars tuvieron los personajes principales de la película sueca Un hombre llamado Ove y que su director es Hannes Holm. 

El estreno de la películla Un hombre llamado Otto será el 13 de enero del 2023 en los cinemas suecos. La película ya fue estrenada en los Estados Unidos, unos días antes de terminar este año 2022, así la pelicula podría ser nominada por la Academia de los Oscares.

Annie Ernaux, Premio Nobel de Literatura está en Estocolmo.

La autora francesa Annie Ernaux,  Premio Nobel de Literatura 2022 está en Estocolmo para recibir el premio en una ceremonia de gala que realiza el Premio Nobel para hacer entrega del premio a los ganadores del premio nobel. La ceremonia de entrega de los premios es el 10 de diciembre y los premios son entregados por el Rey Carlos Gustavo de Suecia. 

La escritora francesa ha llegado a la capital sueca para recibir no solamete el premio, sino también tendrá una charla ante invitados y publico asistente. La charla que se llevará a cabo el 7 de diciembre en el salón de la Academia Sueca en Estocolmo. Este premio tiene un equivalente a 10 millones de coronas suecas. 

La Academia Sueca le otorga el Premio Nobel de Literatura a Annie Ernaux "por el coraje y la agudeza clínica con la que descubre las raíces, extrañamientos y restricciones colectivas de la memoria personal"

Está tarde la escritora francesa Annie Ernaux habló ante la prensa y en su conferencia de prensa dijo

"Mi deseo de escribir , solamete ha aumentado". 

La premio nobel Annie Ernaux, dijo que los hombres deben cambiar sus actitudes ahora antes de que las mujeres alcancen la plena igualdad con ellos.

“Porque si los hombres no toman conciencia de su cuerpo, su forma de vida, su forma de comportarse y lo que los motiva, no habrá una verdadera liberación para las mujeres”. dijo la escritora Annie Ernaux.

La escritora admite también que en realidad nunca había deseado recibir el Premio Nobel. 

"más precisamente: nunca me imaginé que podría conseguirlo. Para mí, es principalmente la escritura la que cuenta y la respuesta del lector, ese es mi primer objetivo. Por cierto, ¿cómo te imaginas que estás solo en el mundo para ser merecedor de tal premio? Estoy muy orgullosa pero no pretenciosa, dice Annie. 

 - Pero desde que recibí ese honor, también quiero dejar claro que todos los objetivos cuentan para mí, tanto en lo que se refiere a la literatura como en el mundo político y social, agrego la escritora.

Tom Hanks is coming to Sockholm for the gala premiere of “A man called Otto”: “Dream that comes true”

On 22 november SF studios in Sweden announced that SF studios in Sweden will have the gala premiere of the movie "A Man Called Otto".

At the gala premiere,  Actor Tom Hanks, filmmakers and stars of the film will attend the gala premiere, which will take place on December 13 in Stockholm; "Dream that comes true".

SF Studios is excited to announce that upcoming film A Man Called Otto will have a gala premiere on December 13 in Stockholm. Some of the film’s cast and filmmakers are expected to attend including Tom Hanks, Mariana Treviño, director Marc Forster and producers Rita Wilson and Fredrik Wikström Nicastro. The drama comedy is a US adaptation based on the #1 New York Times bestseller "A Man Called Ove" and the Swedish film of the same name by Hannes Holm. Sony Pictures will begin to distribute the film in theaters from December 25, 2022, with SF Studios distributing the film in the Nordics on January 13, 2023.


A Man Called Otto tells the story of Otto Anderson (Tom Hanks), a grump who no longer sees purpose in his life following the loss of his wife. Otto is ready to end it all, but his plans are interrupted when a lively young family moves in next door, and he meets his match in quick-witted Marisol. She challenges him to see life differently, leading to an unlikely friendship that turns his world around. A heartwarming and funny story about love, loss, and life, A Man Called Otto shows that family can sometimes be found in the most unexpected places.

SF Studios is producing and also fully financing the film. Directed by Marc Forster (Finding Neverland), A Man Called Otto stars Tom Hanks (Philadelphia, Forrest Gump, Cast Away), Mariana Treviño (Club the Cuervos), Rachel Keller (Fargo) and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Magnificent Seven). The screenplay is written by Academy Award® nominee David Magee (Best Adapted Screenplay, Life of Pi, 2012; Best Adapted Screenplay, Finding Neverland, 2004). The film is being produced by Fredrik Wikström Nicastro at SF Studios, Rita Wilson, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman.

The film is based on Fredrik Backman's bestselling novel "A Man Called Ove", which spent 77 consecutive weeks on New York Times bestsellers’ list and has sold over 8 million copies worldwide. SF Studios then successfully adapted the book into a Swedish film, written and directed by Hannes Holm. The film was released in 2015 and is one of the most watched Swedish films of all time with approx. 1.7 million cinemagoers. The Swedish-language film was nominated for two Oscars® including Best Foreign Language Film and was the highest-grossing foreign film in the US in 2016. Both the novel and the Swedish film adaptation of A Man Called Ove have achieved great success due to the poignant and timeless story of love, loss, family and friendship. In the new film adaptation, the titular character has been renamed to Otto reflect the shift to an American setting.

The Swedish Film Institute in collaboration with Stiftelsen Sven Nykvists filmfotografifond and Sveriges Television held an event as a tribute to one of the foremost cinematographers of all time.

El Instituto de Cine Sueco, en colaboración con la Stiftelsen Sven Nykvists filmfotografifond y la Televisión de Suecia realizaron un evento como tributo a uno de los más destacados fotográfos de la cinematografía de todos los tiempos.

Sven Nykvist hyllas på 100 årsdagen på filmhuset

Lördagen den 3 december skulle Sven Nykvist fyllt 100 år. Med filmer som Persona, Fanny och Alexander, Såsom i en spegel, Viskningar och rop, Älskande par, Varats olidliga lätthet, Små och stora brott, Gilbert Grape, Offret och Sömnlös i Seattle har han för evigt skrivit in sig i filmhistorien. Han har kallats för en ljusmålare i svartvitt och färg. 

Sven Nykvists konstnärskap uppmärksammas på flera platser i världen och i Sverige hyllas han på själva födelsedagen i Filmhuset i Stockholm, men också under hela december på Filmarkivet.se, Sveriges Television och på SF Anytime.

Sven Nykvist föddes i Moheda, Kronobergs län den 3 december 1922. Hans barndomstrakt och det faktum att hans föräldrar var missionärer i Afrika har haft betydelse för hans verk. Han började med att fotografera kortfilmer - flera av dem finns på Filmarkivet.se - och blott 22 år gammal fick han biträda filmfotografen Olle Nordemar på inspelningen av Barnen från Frostmofjället (1945). År 1953 korsades Sven Nykvists och Ingmar Bergmans vägar när Nykvist fick uppdraget att filma interiörscenerna i Gycklarnas afton.

Två gånger Oscarsbelönad och därutöver har han ytterligare två Oscarsnomineringar, varav en för Oxen, som nominerades för Bästa utländska film 1992 och vilken han regisserade. Med Oscarsbelöningarna följde internationella uppdrag och ledde till samarbete med regissörer som Woody Allen, Louis Malle, Andrej Tarkovskij, Nora Ephron, Lasse Hallström och Volker Schlöndorff. Sven Nykvist gick ur tiden 2006.

På lördag, i Filmhuset, framträder två av våra mest namnkunniga filmfotografer, Sophia Olsson (Sameblod, 438 dagar) och Fredrik Wenzel (Triangle of Sadness, The Square), som båda belönats med Sven Nykvist Cinematography Award. Skådespelerskan Ewa Fröling, som samarbetat med Nykvist i Fanny och Alexander och Oxen, finns också på plats liksom Jan Holmberg, vd för Stiftelsen Ingmar Bergman samt Sven Nykvists son Carl-Gustaf Nykvist. 

Filmarkivet.se uppmärksammar Sven Nykvist i ett nytt tema där en text skrivits av Jan Holmberg. Vidare kan man se Carl-Gustaf Nykvists dokumentär om fadern, Ljuset håller mig sällskap från 2000, under helgen på SVT. Förutom den kan man i december månad även se Oxen, Persona, En passion, Marmeladupproret, Fanny och Alexander samt Sömnlös i Seattle på SVT Play.
