Nicaraguans in Stockholm commemorated the 83th anniversary of Augusto C. Sandino’s assassination with music, poetry and dances

On February 18, the Nicaraguan Embassy, ​​The Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) and the organisation Swedish-Nicaraguan Friendship Society (VFSN) held a political-cultural event to commemorate the 83rd anniversary of the assassination of General of Free Men and Women, Augusto C. Sandino.
The assassination of General Augusto César Sandino was on February 21, 1934. This assassination was ordered by National Guard director Anastasio Somoza Garcia who was a faithful friend of the United States Government. The assassination was carried out by the National Guard and with the approval of the United States. Sandino's National Sovereignty Defense Army fought US Marines. The US marines were defeated in the mountains of Nicaragua by Sandino 's army. 
The Ambassador of Nicaragua in Sweden Veronica Rojas welcomed the participants and she spoke about General Sandino and the new Nicaragua, which is led by the Sandinista National Liberation Front with Daniel Ortega as president.

Veronica Rojas on behalf of the Embassy handed diplomas to many men and women, in recognition of the work they have been doing for many years in Sweden, publicizing the culture and situation of Nicaragua in this Nordic country, a recognition of their solidarity work for the people of Nicaragua. Special mentions were made to solidarity organizations.
During the commemorative night many cultural groups from several Latin American countries participated with music, dance and poetry. Many girls from Nicaragua participated and they danced several folklore dances from Nicaragua.

Filmpremiär: Den lyckligaste dagen i Olli Mäkis liv av Juho Kusmanen

I morgon den 10:e februari är det premiär av filmen Den lyckligaste dagen i Olli Mäkis liv av regissören Juho Kusmanen.  Det är en underbar finsk film som berättar om boxaren Olli Mäki.(Jarkko Lahti). Det handlar också om EM-mästaren Elis Ask (Eero Milonoff) och Ollis älskade Raija (Oona Airola) .

EM-mästare Elis Ask blir Olli Mäkis tränare och hans ansvar är att träna boxaren Olli Mäki inför hans viktigaste boxningsmatch mot den amerikanske boxaren Davey Moore. Hela Finland förbereder sig för att se den viktigaste matchen som skulle slutat med en seger. Massmedier följer Olli Mäki, intervjuer och  fotograferar honom under tiden han tränar inför matchen. Det blir mycket för Olli Mäki med alla middagar med sponsorer,  fotosessioner och en filminspelning. Elis Ask, tränaren, däremot gillar att visa sig framför kamerorna och röra sig bland sponsorerna.
Matchen är viktigare för tränaren än för Olli Mäki som vill träna på egen hand utan att få som mycket uppmärksamhet. Detta skapar en konflikt mellan dem. När Elis Ask ser att Olli är kär i Raija, tycker han att det inte är lämpligt just nu eftersom boxaren behöver koncentration för att träna. Men det är inte mycket boxning som man ser i filmen. Det är mer allt som rör sig omkring boxarens liv: Massmedier och sponsorer.

Filmen utspelar sig sommaren 1962. Det är mycket som står på spel i Olli Mäkis liv: att bli världmästare i fjäderviktsboxning eller att välja sin älskade Raija.
Att regissören Juho Kusmanen använder sig av svartvitt foto gör att filmen upplevs som äkta, liksom som en dokumentär. Det är en fin miljö och skådespelarna gör fantastiska rollprestationer.

En mycket fin film. Denna film var vald som Finlands Oscarsbidrag.   Betyg: **** av 5


Sinopsis:

Sommaren 1962 har Olli Mäki chansen att bli världsmästare i fjäderviktsboxning. Hela Finland, från landsbygden till stadens ljus i Helsingfors, har förberett sig på hans seger och framgång. Allt Olli behöver göra är att gå ner i vikt och koncentrera sig på matchen. Men det finns ett problem – han har förälskat sig i Raija.

Polar Music Prize 2017 announced

The Laureates of the Polar Music Prize 2017 are the British musician and singer-songwriter Sting, real name Gordon Sumner, from Wallsend in Northumberland and Wayne Shorter, American jazz saxophonist from Newark, New Jersey.
The Laureates will receive the prize from His Majesty King Carl XVI at a gala ceremony at Concert Hall in Stockholn on Thursday, June 15th. Each recipient receives a total amount of one million SEK.

Inicia primera muestra de Cine Nicaragüense en el Instituto Cervantes de Estocolmo

El Instituto Cervantes de Estocolmo y la Embajada de Nicaragua ha inciado la Primera muestra de Cine Nicaragüense en Estocolmo. En la apertura del ciclo de películas de Nicaragua participaron dando las palabras de bienvenida a la audiencia; el Director del Instituto Cervantes Julio Martínez Mesanza y la Embajadora de Nicaragua Verónica Alejandra Rojas Berrios.

El día de hoy a las 18.30 horas se inauguró el ciclo de Cine. Son 4 películas nicaragüenses que se proyectarán durante 4 lunes en este mes de febrero. Esta noche se presentó la película " La pantalla desnuda. Cuando lo íntimo se hace público de la directora Florence Jaugey (2014),  el 13 de febrero "The black creoles" de los directores María José Álvarez y Martha Clarissa Hernández 2013), 20 de febrero. La Yuma. En Nicaragua quién dijo miedo de la directora Florence Jaugey (2009) y el 27 de febrero se cerrará este ciclo con la película Miskitu. El que no conoce su historia, no puede sentirse orgulloso de su identidad de la directora Rebeca Arcia ( 2014).

Esta iniciativa de parte del Instituto Cervantes y la Embajada de Nicaragua es muy importante para dar a conocer el desarrollo cinematográfico de Nicaragua en este país escandinavo. El arte es la mejor manera de dar a conocer la cultura y el desarrollo de un país. Estas películas nicaragüenses no acercaran de alguna manera a la cultura de Nicaragua y a su pueblo.
Las proyecciones se están efectuando en el local del Instituto Cervantes a las 18.30 horas en Bryggargatan 12A.

Concert with the French conductor Jean-Christophe Spinosi in Stockholm

Merci beaucoup! A great Concert with Jean-Christophe Spinosi. He is a French conductor and violinist. The Concert was at Concert Hall in Stockholm on februari 2.
Director Jean Christophe Spinosi is known for his energy on the Concert scene. Director Jean Christophe Spinosi is on tour with his own Ensemble "Matheus". The repertoire of the night was Ludwig van Beethoven Overture to Prometheus, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Symphony No. 35 (Haffner), which was named after the family that commissioned it and Ludwig van Beethoven Symphony No. 7.
Jean-Christophe Spinosi gave two concerts in the City of Stockholm. He directed Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra during his concert in Stockholm. Standing ovation by the audience at the end of his concert.

Concierto con el Director Francés Jean-Christophe Spinosi en Estocolmo

Muchas Gracias! Un gran Concierto con Jean Christophe Spinosi. Él es un director de orquesta y violinista Francés. El concierto fue en la Casa de Concierto de Estocolmo el 2 de febrero.
El Director Jean-Christoph Spinosi, es conocido por su energia en la escena. Su concierto de esta noche fue lleno de una energia unica. El Director Jean Christophe Spinosi está de gira con su propio Ensemble "Matheus".
