On tuesday, october 22 was the press Conference to announce the program for the Stockholm International filmfestival. The festival director Git Scheynius and
George Ivanov presented the program. This year there will be 180 movies from 50 different countries. The festival will begin 6 november until 17 november. It will be 12 Days of Movies in different Cinemas in Stockholm.

The theme of the festival for this year is
FREEDOM. The festival will be open with the film
12 Years a Slave of director Steve McQueen. The screenwriter of this film is John Ridley.
John Ridley will attend the Stockholm Film festival and his movie

Bronze Horse Award for Best Film in the Stockholm Film Festival

The Lifetime Achievement Award goes to
Claire Denis, a French director.
Jury statement:
”Claire
Denis refuses to close her eyes to the creative and destructive force
unleashed
by human weaknesses. A bold explorer of postcolonial Africa and the
dark corners
of
modern society, who invites the audience to an exposed universe that
is beautiful and raw.
This
year's Lifetime Achievement Award goes to a filmmaker who continues
to seek what
others
turn away from, always fearless and with a rare eye for visual
poetry”.
The Visionary Award is to
Peter Greenaway, a British film director. Greenaway will be in Stockholm to receive the Bronze Horse on November 8 and meet the audience during a Face2face.
Jury Statement: ”Whether men
are drowning by numbers, bodies are turned into art or savage nature
is transformed into haute cuisine, Peter Greenaway has always
challenged the spectator like a true modern visionary. By questioning
traditional notions of artistic expression and combining the latest
techniques with his vast knowledge of the classic art forms, this
year’s recipient of the Stockholm Visionary Award has indeed
created a new cinematic language."
